As cyclists, we love to ride in beautiful places and keep a record of where we have been. However, our photos can sometimes look ‘ordinary’ and uninspiring to others. For those wanting to Wow! their cycling photos, join this special interest ride. The route will provide opportunities to see places of both historical interest and beauty, with information provided by the ride leader, and guidance on taking your best photos by Chris Byrne. Although smartphones are ubiquitous these days, any portable camera is suitable for this ride.
Meet for briefing at the right hand side of the ticket exit barriers on St Leonards station concourse. Leaving the station to ride to West St to commence a scenic loop. Firstly accessing the Waverton peninsula to enter Balls Head and visit two levels of the historic Coal Loader, and see an aboriginal rock carving. Then ride around Berry's Bay to McMahons Point, passing through Sawmillers Reserve and into Lavender Bay to reach the foreshore share path to Luna Park. Coffee break at Milsons Point. Then the return route passes North Sydney station crossing into Miller St then West St, to enter St Thomas' Rest Park in Cammeray. Leaving the Park we ride down Aitchison St back to St Leonards station.
This ride will be taken at a slow pace to allow for stops to identify photographic opportunities and to try out newfound skills. Depending on the time taken at stops, the ride may be necessarily shortened to ensure finishing 3.5 hrs.The ride includes lots of hills and a few steep short descents. Approx 250 metres rough surface. Often narrow suburban streets, main hazards are close traffic and ambling pedestrians along the foreshore shared pathways.

All riders must wear an approved helmet and carry water, at least one spare tube plus a pump.

may be used by Bike North for social media or promotional purposes. If participants do not wish to be
included in social media, they should make it known at the beginning of the activity or as soon as possible
and other participants must respect their wishes.
