From St Leonards Station ride down Herbert St to join 3km of cycleway to Lane Cove Village. Navigate through Lane Cove West to Riverview Rd - a very steep road leading down to Burns Bay. Check brakes the evening before- this route is chosen so as to miss the majority of busy Burns Bay Road. Cross Fig Tree Bridge which spans Lane Cove River, to ride through Hunters Hill (west) and the tranquil Riverglade Reserve. Cross Tarban Creek Bridge which spans Parramatta River and ride into Hunter Hill (east). See throughout Hunter Hill and Woolwich, many domestic architectural styles, plus local white sand stone Gothic style churches. Good river views plus Kelly's Bush.
Depending on time, we will have coffee either before or after Ferry crossing, as only one Ferry per hour, so we will aim for the 12.24 pm from Valencia St, Woolwich over to Greenwich Wharf. Limit of seven bikes on board. From Greenwich Wharf, ride up through the suburb to cross Smoothey Park share bridge. Ride into St Leonards after crossing River Road with much care, making use of refuge island. Finish ride at the Station.
