Start and Finish at Turramurra - 06:30 start - lights are mandatory
This is one of the hardest rides run by Bike North. You should be comfortable with other hard rides before you attempt this ride.
We start at Turramurra - Cameron Park and short ride to Hornsby and onto Hornsby Heights and then ride with suitable care down the Galston Gorge descent. Be alert (especially early in the morning) for tradies, wet dew and/or rain/seepage
A 3 km climbs brings us to the top of Galston Gorge and we re-group then we undulate through attractive rural back way, bypassing Galston Village. Our next descent is down to Berowra Waters. Stay alert, this is another fast technical descent. We re-group at the Ferry.
The time waiting for the ferry is a good chance to have a snack, stretch and drink because the next 4km climbs up to Berowra.
We follow the ups and downs of the Pacific Highway for the next 9km to shake the hill out of your legs. Pie in the Sky beckons with it famous range of Pies.
South back along the highway for 15 km after leaving PITS sees us dropping back down to sea level once more. This descent is technical with steeper gradient and tight corners. We have a chance for a comfort stop at the bottom before the 4km and 5% ascent to the top again. By now most riders are really starting to feel the climbs in their legs.
Back streets lead our return to Turramurra, finishing where we started.
