Walter Burley Griffin architectural and landscape influences remain in Willoughby, Castle Crag and Middle Cove.
From Artarmon station we ride the Flat Rock cycle share path into Willoughby to view an extant Walter Burley Griffin and Eric Nicolls designed Incinerator. From there ride the back streets up to Middle Cove and into Harold Reid Reserve, which includes 50m rough track. Good views over to Castle Cove. The Reserve has been declared one of the North Shore's finest areas of natural bushland. Retrace 2 km of ride to turn into the Castle Crag peninsula to see five of Walter Burley Griffin designed houses and see where he and wife Marion lived in Parapet St for nine years. Coffee stop at Castle Crag. Return via Willoughby and Artarmon back streets, Cordia and Flat Rock pathways and Epping Rd cycleway to finish at Artarmon Station.
A few hills to navigate especially in Middle Cove, but can be taken at own pace.
