The ride starts and finishes at the Meadowbank ferry wharf and proceeds clockwise around the bays and foreshores on the Northern side of the Parramatta River, over the Gladesville Bridge and onto to the Iron Cove Bay Run. Italian coffee will be enjoyed in Leichardt (Bar Italia), which is reached mid-way around Iron Cove, with a diversion down Hawthorne Canal. After coffee, the ride will retrace Hawthorne Canal and continues in a clockwise direction around Iron Cove before diverting to the bays and foreshores on the southern side of Parramatta River. We will return to the start via the Concord Hospital/ Ryde bridge route.
The ride includes some hilly areas primarily in the first 9kms. of the ride. While there are numerous shared paths, riders need to be comfortable cycling on some fairly busy roads.
Please note: Bar Italia does not accept credit cards but has a cash machine. Alternatively, there is a cafe next door that accepts credit cards.
