Note: Special Start - Outside Madison Capital Executive Apartments, Northbourne Avenue (cnr with Girrahween Street)
This will be a Gelato Fairy Ride
Heads south 7km past CBD to Lake Burley Griffin in Commonwealth Park, near Commonwealth Bridge. Starts looping the lake clockwise, past The Carillon and briefly aside narrow Molonglo River.
Turns westward and into Kingston, with numerous coffee/food options.
Then passes Gallery, High Court, Questacon, and Library.
Further west, out to Kurrajong Point, then past Government House, Yarralumla, to Scrivener Dam.
Now heads east again, to Black Mtn Peninsula, then the National Museum.
Finally, almost reaching Commonwealth Bridge, heads 7km north back to Downer on different paths, past ANU.
Most of the route is flat, except undulating a few km either side of the dam.
A 14km shorter route could be arranged by starting and ending lakeside. Further shorten by skipping Kurrajong Point, Black Mtn Peninsula, and National Museum.
