The ride starts and finishes at the Meadowbank ferry wharf, and crosses the Parramatta R. using the ferry between Putney Mortlake, then proceeds anti-clockwise around the bays and foreshores on the S. side of the Parramatta River. We'll stop for coffee, probably in Wareemba, before circling Iron Cove, passing through Drummoyne and over Gladesville Bridge.
(Alternatively we will return to the start via the Concord Hospital/ Ryde bridge route.)
Allow 3.5 - 4 hrs hours including ride briefing, regroups, coffee stop and ferry trip assuming a steady 16 km/h avge pace.
The ride includes some hilly areas. While there are numerous shared paths, riders need to be comfortable cycling on some fairly busy roads. Route hazards include cyclists, pedestrians, dogs, bollards, etc. particularly on the Iron Cove Bay Run. There are several water fountains and toilets on the route. There are no designated options for riders wishing to leave the ride.
