About this event

The ride is suitable for strong riders on road bikes setup for fast road travelling.

One of the hardest rides in BN database. A scenic longer ride and which loops north with a ferry across cross Broken Bay.

Travel via Mona Vale Rd and McCarrs Ck Rd past Church Point and Bayview, then through Newport and up over the Bilgola bends. After Avalon turn right for quiet roads with views over Whale Beach. Then if time permits, grab a quick coffee before the ferry leaves. Depart the Ferry at Ettalong and ride through to Woy Woy and West Gosford alongside Brisbane waters.

Climb the Central Coast Highway up to Kariong, then follow the Old Pacific Highway through Mooney Mooney and past Mt White before descending to the Hawkesbury and the last main climb up Brooklyn. After refuelling, at Pie in the Sky a gentle roll back to Mt Colah and for those with fresh legs they can enjoy the descent and climb via Bobbin Head and return to Turramurra.

This ride is best tackled early to avoid the traffic and catch the sunrise over Whale beach which generally suited to the warmer months

Riders need to come prepared with two water bottles (particularly in warmer weather), tyre repair tools and food for a long ride with remote segments. The main coffee stop with food is towards the end of the ride at approx. 100Km
