The Alternate Big Loop

About this event

This is an alternative route to the Big Loop.

The ride travels up through back streets of Eastwood and Carlingford to get to Pennant Hills Rd and then follows an undulating route through the West Pennant Hills valley cutting through to Castle Hill, then mostly back roads to travel through Baulkham Hills and down to Winston Hills and Parramatta Park.

Once at Parra Park we do a lap or three (either fast or slow) before our morning coffee stop. We return via the Parramatta Valley Cycleway to West Ryde, then take the gradual climb up the hill to Eastwood.

This medium grade ride provides an opportunity for those used to easier or flatter rides to gain experience on longer and hillier rides. A wide range of gearing can be used on this ride. More experienced riders will also enjoy a shorter ride with laps of Parramatta Park for extra effort.
