This ride is a variation of The Gorge and Berowra and is intended to encourage participants to take on a ride with significant climbs and technical descents without the pressure of trying to keep up with the fast riders. Starting in Hornsby we head straight for Galston Gorge, descend the 6 hairpins and cross Berowra Creek on the old wooden bridge with the giant economy sized bolts before beginning the climb out. This ascent is steep in sections, but doable with good gear selection and a regroup at the top allows everyone to climb at their own pace. The roll across Arcadia is undulating with some lovely views out over the countryside. We then descend to Berowra Waters and take the free ferry, cross Berowra Creek again, and do the less demanding climb up to Berowra Heights before heading to Pie in the Sky cafe for a very well earned coffee and pie. (There is also the opportunity to add in Brooklyn Hill if you're feeling good.) After coffee it's straight back down the Old Pacific Highway to Hornsby.
